Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a Digital Design?
A: A digital design simply means that instead of receiving prints of your photographs you will receive a digital copy of it via email.
Q: How do I send my photos?
A: Email them to me at: info@enhance-me.com If your photos are large you may want to send them over more than one emails . You will need to send them as attachments (with most email programs you will click on “insert file” or “insert attachment”).
Another option is to send me a link to an online personal photo storage website (if you have one), but you will need to be sure I can access the full sized photos and not compressed / resized photos.
Q: How do I pay?
A: Credit or debit card payment via Paypal. Both UK and international customers can choose to pay using their credit card, Switch or Solo debit card or from their bank accounts using the online payment services of PayPal (please note that currently this is the only method of payment available)
Q: When do I pay?
A: The ordering process involves submitting your order, I will contact you with a quote and to discuss what you want and I will then send you an invoice via Paypal. Following your payment I will begin work on your order and aim to contact you again within a week with your proofs. Upon approval of the proofs you will then receive an email containing a high resolution copy of your completed photograph.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: At the moment I can only accept payment via Paypal, however, you do not need to be subscribed to paypal to enable you to make a payment to me - all you need is a credit or debit card. I may consider other methods in the future.
Q: What size of photos should I send you?
A: The bigger, the better! Do not resize, compress, or crop your photos prior to sending them. Please where possible choose high resolution photos. (Resolution is the digital size of the photo.) The higher the resolution, the better the quality your prints will be. I will contact you to let you know If you send photos that are too small.
If you are scanning your photos, please set your scanner’s resolution to 300dpi (dots per inch). Save them as JPEG’s at the lowest compression ratio i.e. at ‘best’ quality.
The files size should be at least 200kbs.
Q: What format should my photos be?
A: You will need to send photos in JPG, BMP, or GIF format. If they are not in these formats I may not be able to open them.
Q: I don't have broadband - how should I go about sending and receiving images?
A: You could send me a link to an online personal photo storage website (if you have one), but you will need to be sure I can access the full sized photos and not compressed / resized photos.
or
You could send me your photos on a CD. Please see contact me for my address.
or
you can send me a physical photo but remember that you are risking your photo getting lost/damaged in the post, and there will be a time delay. I cannot be held responsible for anything that goes missing in the post. Please see contact me for my address.
or
If you don't have a scanner - almost all photo developing shops and internet cafes will be able to scan your photograph for you and give you a copy on disc, or they may even email it to me on your behalf. It is important that you specify they scan it as a high resolution .jpg (minimum size 300dpi)
Q: How do I get prints of my images?
A: Following your payment you will receive an email containing a high resolution copy of your completed photograph. You will then be able to print the design however you would like. The first thing you will need to do is save it to your computer. Then you can either print as many copies as you need at home using your own printer, or you can have it printed professionally.
One option for printing is burning the design to a CD-ROM and taking it to a local photo lab that can print digital prints (most labs nowadays can do this)
Q: Are there any digital services you would recommend?
A: There are a number of websites that specialise in printing high quality digital prints such as www.shutterfly.com
(USA Snapfish)
(UK Snapfish)
You would then upload the design to one of these websites and order as many copies as you need.
Q: Can I request the specific size of the completed image you send me in Inches for the purpose of printing?
A: Yes, absolutely, in fact it makes it easier for me if I know what size you want e.g. 5x7 or 4x6 inches. However, I can only do this if the initial image you send me is a good quality.
When getting prints made of your image please make sure you order the correct size (if you requested a 4x6 inch design, don't order 5x7 inch prints or parts of the photograph will be cropped).
Q: Can I cancel my order?
A: If you are not happy with my initial design when you view the first proof I am willing to accept a cancellation. However, I am happy to revise your order and discuss with what you want changed and send you a revised proof. Due to the time I have used to produce another revision I cannot accept cancellations after a revised proof is sent. Once payment is received you can contact me within 7 days if you are unhappy with the final image, after 7 days no refunds can be issued.
Q: I have a job request that isn't on your list of services, can you do it?
A: I am more than willing to consider your request. Please contact me and we can discuss what it is you want me to do and I will help wherever possible!
Q: Any other questions?
A: Please contact me
